Dr Eiman Abdel Aleem received her PhD in Molecular Biology from Heidelberg University and the German Cancer Research Center, Germany, and her fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, Maryland, USA. She was a Professor at the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, Egypt. She was a Senior Researcher at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, and the co-director of the Institute of Molecular Medicine at PCH and University of Arizona College of Medicine, USA where her research focused on the identification of novel targets in pediatric cancer using genomic and proteomic approaches and on the role of the microenvironment in drug resistance using 3D models. Dr. Aleem is leading the Biomedical Sciences Program and the Cancer Biology and Therapy Group at LSBU, London, UK. Dr. Aleem received the Award of the National Institute of Health, USA, for Excellence in Biomedical Research for three years and the Egyptian State Prize in the Biological Sciences. She is interested in making Science popular and in the empowerment of women in STEM.
