Abdullah Al Balushi received his B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is currently a research assistant at Sultan Qaboos University. His research interest is in the area of the energy-water-environment nexus. During his M.S. degree, he worked on the fabrication of novel membranes for the membrane distillation process. He coauthored two peer-review papers and was named the "Young Omani Water Researcher" in 2018 by the Middle East Desalination Research Center (Muscat, Oman). He is currently studying biodiesel production from waste date seeds in Sultan Qaboos University.
